Thought some of you might want to know how things are progressing.
I am in the stages of final personal edits to The Fire in My Blood. I am researching how to create a blurb and a synopsis today. With some luck I will have those 500 words done and polished by lunch.
I plan on taking the rest of the week to construct query letters to agents and start pitching. I have not received as much feedback as I had hoped from beta readers by this point, but I had enough to take my editing in a reasonable direction. Enough, I feel, that if I send in what I have and the agent likes it, but wants to see a scene added or deleted, it will not be an entire manuscript overhaul.
I would like to thank my beta readers for their contributions. They helped immensely!
My plan is to query this summer. If by August I have not found someone interested in the story for traditional publishing through a publish house, I do promise you I will hire an editor to clean up what remains of the book, do up a good cover for it, and self-publish it on Amazon so you can get the e-book or paperback.
For the story being Slipstream m/m romance – this will most likely not be taken up by any large or medium press. I need to face that reality and not get my hopes up. This is also why I have my doubts about finding an agent that will want to represent me. It’s a niche audience with low saleability.
Thank you for your patience and kind words.
